Welcome to our Home Learning Zone.

'Reach For The Stars - Never Stop Believing!'

Welcome to our home learning page. At World's End Infant and Nursery School, we are committed to supporting our pupils to continue their learning journey throughout this period of current upheaval. Below you will find recommendations for keeping healthy, both in mind and body, as well as learning opportunities to support your child’s learning at home.   We have also provided links that offer advice and support and additional resources; these documents have been written by the Department for Education. Our resources can be supplemented by the accessing the links provided in the Learning and Website Resources.

Here is a short video that is really useful in supporting daily routines while
school is closed:

Home learning opportunities

Our weekly learning opportunities are based upon the The National Curriculum expectations for each primary phase. The aim is for children to complete several learning opportunities each day covering reading, writing, phonics/spelling, maths and some wider curriculum areas. Please don’t feel as if you must complete every learning opportunity listed; instead, pick and choose from each section to ensure each learning session is varied.

If your child finds any of the tasks set for their year group too challenging, then we advise that your child accesses the opportunities which are set to the age range below, for example a child in Year 2 could attempt the Y1 opportunities, if this is more appropriate for them.

In designing these learning opportunities, we fully acknowledge that they cannot replace the quality of learning your child receives at school.  Our focus has been on creating a set of learning opportunities that all children can access to maximise their learning whilst at home.

Now we are back in school, we are able to send out paper copies of our home learning packs for you to complete at home so please watch out for these in the post.  You do not need to send any work back to school although the teachers would love to see anything your child does via the class email  (please refer to  the class pages for the address).  If the pack doesn't arrive please contact the office.

Each week, a new set of learning opportunities will be added to this page- we have deliberately planned for some repetition of key tasks; this is deliberate because we know that 'practise makes permanent'.  If you have any queries or worries then please email: and someone will contact you asap.

Our previous Home Learning Templates have been archived onto Class pages.
