Meet the Governors

Our Chair of Governors, Mrs Rauf, would like to provide a warm welcome to our Governors section. Thank you for visiting our website to find out about the work we do to support our school.

Our Governing Body works closely with the Headteacher and staff of the school to ensure the best possible provision and outcomes for the children at World’s End. Their main functions are to:

Set the vision and strategic direction of the school

Hold the Headteacher to account for its educational performance

Ensure financial resources are well spent

Governors meet every half term; their meetings take place at the school in the evening and usually last for around two hours. Committees of the Governing Body – Finance and Pay & Staffing Committees – also meet regularly throughout the year.

Individual governors have specific responsibilities to do with aspects of the school or its curriculum and report back to the full Governing Body.

The Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding is Mrs C. Dockery-Pirouzi.

The Governing Body was reconstituted in September 2020 and comprises 11 governors: one local authority governor, one staff governor, two parent governors, six co-opted governors, plus the Headteacher. The co-opted governors come from a range of backgrounds and bring with them valuable skills in areas such as finance, commerce and human resources, as well as knowledge of the local community and education.

In my role as Headteacher, I am automatically eligible to be a member of the Governing Body.

Our current Governing Body is a fantastic group of people to work with; they have enthusiasm for the role and a real commitment to helping to make our school the best it can be.

One of my roles is to produce a Headteacher’s Report for the Governing Body’s half termly meetings, which gives them up-to-date information on our school: numbers of pupils on roll, SEN information, attendance, health and safety, the curriculum, parent and community activities, and staff training. My reports also cover standards in school, and an update on progress towards the objectives we have been working on in the School Development Plan.

I am the Staff Governor and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and ideas with the rest of the Governors to ensure that World’s End Infant and Nursery School is a happy and exciting school.

Hello everyone! My name is Momina and I am a medical doctor by profession. I have worked at various hospitals and medical schools teaching medical students. Quality education and the teaching profession itself is very dear to me.

However, I am currently a stay at home mom as my children are still in their primary years of education. It is a crucial time for their personality and academic development and thus I have chosen to dedicate these early years to them. World's End Infants is very dear to me as me and my kids feel it as a second home.

The school has played a vital role in shaping their personality and helped them to discover their hidden talents! I am very grateful and thus want to contribute back to this amazing institute. As i am primarily involved in their education and have educated myself within this domain I would like to play a positive role in the schools academics and where ever my skills are required. I hope to work for the best along side the other members of the Governing board.

Life is a roller coaster with my two kids as we are always up to something. In my free time I love to read and exercise and always try to learn something new!
