Safeguarding at World's End
The safety and wellbeing of our children is important to us; all children have the right to be safe! (Article 19).
All safeguarding matters are dealt with in accordance with our policies and procedures which are available for you to see in our Safeguarding Policy section of our website.

We take safeguarding very seriously at our World’s End Infant School. Section 175 of the Education Act 2002 requires Governing Bodies to “exercise their functions with a view to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.” We recognise that we all have a duty to keep our pupils safe by contributing to:
Providing a safe environment for children to learn
Identifying children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, and taking appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at home and at school
We follow the statutory guidance from the Department for Education: ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (DfE September 2020). Many of our policiesreference safeguarding issues, we have included the main ones in this section, with useful links to other information and guidance.

The background of all our staff, including volunteers, supply teachers and students, is checked by the Disclosure and barring Service (DBS) to ensure their suitability to work with children. Staff regularly receive safeguarding training.
We may be required to liaise with other agencies such as health professionals, Children’s Social Care Services and the police in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
